TABLE MOUNTAIN

Table Mountain forms a stunning backdrop to Cape Town. When southeasterly winds blow against its slopes, clouds form over the mountain, often referred to as the tablecloth. Legend says this cloud formation symbolizes a smoking contest between Old Van Hunks, a pirate, and the Devil. Table Mountain spans roughly 3 km from side to side, bordered by Devils Peak to the east and Lions Head to the west.
